Furniture Care & Safety
1. Safety Instructions
- Distribute weight evenly in cabinets and shelves. Avoid heavy items on top.
- Do not climb or stand on furniture, tip-over risk.
- Inspect screws, joints, and moving parts regularly; tighten when needed.
- Before moving, empty contents and keep doors/drawers closed.
2. Routine Care — General Rules
- Wipe any spill within 10 minutes with a damp cloth, then dry with a soft towel.
- Avoid strong detergents (alcohol/bleach). If used, wipe off immediately and dry.
3. Wood
Natural variation in grain and color is expected. Knots are not defects unless they affect strength.
Solid Wood
We use beech, ash, American/French oak (birch for internal sofa frames). Moisture is controlled during production, but extreme humidity or dryness can still affect solid wood.
Veneer
Real-wood veneer over engineered panels. If scratched, do not sand or use abrasive paper.
Cleaning & Maintenance
- Wipe with a slightly damp cloth; dry immediately.
- Dust with a soft duster; mild furniture cleaner is acceptable.
- Avoid alcohol/solvent cleaners and hard tools (steel wool, stiff brushes).
Sunlight & Heat
- Keep at least 30 cm from heaters and fireplaces.
- Avoid prolonged direct sun to reduce fading.
- Use heat pads under hot objects.
4. Fabric
Wool, cotton/linen, and performance blends. Avoid sharp objects; trim loose threads, don’t pull.
Cleaning & Maintenance
- Vacuum with a soft brush to remove dust and crumbs.
- Blot spills with an absorbent cloth; allow to air-dry.
- For light soil, wipe with a damp cloth; avoid bleach or harsh detergents.
Sunlight & Heat
Maintain 30 cm from heat sources; avoid direct sunlight to preserve color.
5. Leather
Natural markings and tonal variation are part of genuine leather.
Cleaning & Maintenance
- Dust with a soft dry cloth; vacuum seams gently.
- Water-based spills: blot and let dry naturally.
- Non-water spills: wipe with mild soapy water, then dry.
- Avoid solvents and bleach; use dedicated leather-care products.
Sunlight & Heat
Keep 30 cm from heat; avoid direct sun to limit fading and drying.
6. Marble
Natural and porous—unique veining; can stain or scratch. Lift with care; marble is heavy.
Cleaning & Maintenance
- Remove dust/residue with a clean towel.
- Spills: use neutral soapy water, then dry with a soft cloth.
- Avoid acidic cleaners; for stubborn marks, use diluted alcohol sparingly.
- Seal surfaces periodically; use pads under hot items.
